This wall is actually one of the oldest walls of the house. There is some cement on some sections of the wall(superadobe)that join cob wall sections. Those whom have followed my progress over the years will recall a section that colapsed due to rain fall a couple of years past. The sections that collaped were arches built from earth and did not have any protective plasters. The rains that hit them were those long slow week or longer type rains. Those are the rains that affect earthen sturctures more than the quick and heavy down pour type. Anyway, I put cement based plasters over some of these early exposed areas

Now that I'm joining these walls to cob, I've got to match them up. I've found that earthen plasters go over cement plasters quite will. The other way around seems to cause more problems (cement over earth). I will place a lime plaster over everything when it's all over.
