Cob wall close up:
Here is a good example of how the outside walls are built. Basically each corner is a superadobe wall. A hand pealed log frame ties each corner together. The roof was then put in place and cob is used to fill in the spaces between each corner. The roof will then be supported by the cob rather than the logs. Once I start working on the outer ferro-cement roof I will have a very very fire resistant house. Notice the cool Christmas lights still hanging around even long after Christmas. The windows are square but embedded into the walls to create the curved shape. This eliminates the need for headers over the windows. There are air vents located thru out the house as the windows are fixed.
