Inside the family room This photo is taken in what we call the family room. Actually the house is built very much like a loft apartment in that we have very few interior walls. With the dome in the center of the octagon, the dome itself serves as a type of wall. You can get a better idea of the lighting or as much as a photograph can show. If you see the pink rectangles underneith the windows on the south side of the building. These rectangles will be vents with shutters as all of my windows are fixed. I have several venting statigies thru out the house and this is one of them. The vents will be open in summer and closed in winter. We will use not air conditioning in the house. This year will be a good test of how much cooler the dome will be than the outside. We'll throw in a few fans to help stay cool.
