This photos isn't great and I'll try to get a better one next time. Any way this is a photo of a room my wife calls the laundry room, office, storage room. It came about when we had a fire and lost most of our storage space. Plus at the same time I received an opportunity to work from home. I had a very short time and very little money, thus was born the LOS room.

The foundation is made from rocks obtained locally. A sort of concrete bond beam was placed on this with nails embedded sharp side up. Landscaping timbers are then forced down on the bond beam and the nails. The shape of the building is octagon with one wall butted up against the trailer we live in. The octagon segments are 8 feet in length. Using eight foot 2x4 studs, I framed the walls. For the roof I have a center pole supporting a roof. The roof has very little slope, in fact in some places the water puddles. Not so good for a roof but great for a prototype where you want to test the limits of the material.

The roof is hard to see because it was painted with "cool seal" and it's very very white! I have had some some problems with a mildew scent when we have long periods of rain. I did not plaster the inside of the carpet which means that I have the jute backing exposed to air. I have already put insulation and sheet rock on the inside so It would be hard to get to at this point. I beleive that if I had plastered from both sides I would not have this problem. I am building another proto-type dome structure using this meathod and will plaster from both side to see if this results in an impovement.
