In this photo you can see the large dome
with the foyer behind it. Two forms sit
in the large dome. Also, in the foreground
you can barely see an orange line.
This orange line is where the outer octagonish wall
will go.
I should mention that it is better to leave
the forms in place until the structure is built.
In my own work I attempted to save money by
using as few forms as possible.
Based on these experiences I have found it is
possible to do this utilizing some techniques
I have developed to assist the buttressing of the structure.
One of these techniques involves driving conduit in
the area you are trying to strengthen. Once
the conduit is in place rebar is driven into the
conduit. Rebar by itself in unstablized earth
doesn't do much good. By increasing the diameter of
the reinforcement and combined with fibers of the bag,
it seems to have a strengthening affect.
This observation was made by jumping and pounding on
an area before and after use of the reinforcement.
