Status from winter of 1997 to 1998

It's been a while since I updated this page.
Call it laziness, call it what you will.
Well one big piece of news is the my wife
Carroll and I celibrated our 20th wedding
aniversary on January the 15th (Martin Luther
Kings birthday).
But in addition we've made some good progress
on the building. If you want to compare
the progress you can check out the
previous current status page.
Well in terms of the building we have removed
all forms in the foyer and are ready to top it off.
I stopped working on the foyer for the next
few days
because I wanted to butress the main vault that
leads from the foyer to the large dome.
I expect to have the foyer topped off in
February.
I wish I had some words of wisdom to share with you
but I don't. I do know that should you
undertake to build your own house while working
a full time job - be patient. It will take time.
In today's world that seems almost horrible.
It's not. Maybe that's what I've learned this
last few months and that is to not count the time.
Better to savor each moment. Life is like a fine meal
and should not be rushed.
Our goal is now to be in by Christmass of
1998. I don't know if I'll make it but I do
know it won't be from lack of trying!
By the way, on February 21 we are having a
stucco party. Come on down that Saturday
and stucco for a while then we'll have a party.
I might be able to scounge a bed or two but most
folks will be camping. If the weather is bad
we'll put it off till the next weekend.
